Biography

CATA RENZI DJ, hailing from Balcarce. She stepped into the world of music at age 6, sparked by the curiosity of a piano in her living room and fueled by her father’s influence as he played it. At 11, she picked up the guitar and later discovered the saxophone. She grew up listening to iconic bands like Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Avenged Sevenfold, and System of a Down, among many others. At 14, she began playing saxophone in prominent local bands, performing the greatest hits from groups such as La Vela Puerca, No Te Va A Gustar, Los Redonditos de Ricota, Pappo’s Blues, and more. A decade later, she discovered electronic music, captivated by scene DJs like Boris Brejcha, Charlotte de Witte, Hernán Cattáneo, Anne Clue, and others. This year, she set out to learn how to mix, studying at the “Tierra de Hadas” Academy. Exploring genres like melodic house & techno, indie dance, and progressive house, she delivers a distinctive rhythm marked by hypnotic sounds that make it impossible to stand still. Within just a few months of starting, she landed gigs at venues in Mar del Plata such as Chauvin, The Clap, and Roomie. Cata’s growth as a DJ isn’t just about her mixing technique, but also her ability to connect with the crowd. Every performance becomes a unique experience where musical vibes and the room’s energy merge, creating a truly magical moment. With a strong focus on creativity and innovation, Cata strives to weave elements from various genres and cultures into her sets. This allows her to offer a fresh, original style that resonates with both electronic music enthusiasts and those seeking something new and exciting. Her passion for music and constant drive to learn push her to experiment with new technologies and techniques. Currently, Cata is working on her own productions, where she hopes to channel her influences and love for music into a deeply personal format.
